Whats a Storyboard?

storyboard is a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion pictureanimationmotion graphic or interactive media sequence.  It is made up of a number of squares with illustrations or pictures representing each shot, with notes about what’s going on in the scene and what’s being said in the script during that shot.  Think of it as sort of a comic book version of your script. Why do we need a storyboard? its one of the best ways to show your vision, it makes production MUCH easier, and it saves you a lot of time!

Whats Happening at ACSS

For what's happening in ACSS I had chosen the Aldergrove Community Metal shop.

Connor posing nicely with the welding machine
A drift trike being built in metal shop
Danny fooling around on another drift trike also being built
Connor had built this go cart by scrap all on his own, just finishing up some touches with the welder
Connor testing out the go cart he had made!

Social Media Safety

Although i had not gone to the assembly this year, i had gone two years ago at my old school, D.W Poppy. The white hatter had made many people laugh, but mainly think about what they had done in the past or who they have hurt with their words. The white hatter was able to connect to the students like i have never experienced before, he is a true inspiration. The presentation was interesting to watch. To see the way he had connected to all the students in the crowd, how everyone looked upon him, how he could stand there in front of hundreds of kids and talk about personal encounters he had faced himself, how passionate he was about what he was talking about. I had learnt many things from his presentation. I had learnt that words and actions do hurt people, whether they show it or not, i learnt that before i speak, i should think before i do, i may not think it hurts, i  may think it doesn't bug that one person, but it does effect them. humans are sensitive and i can speak from experience. What i can do to help make sure that things like that don't happen over the internet is to stand up and not be a stand by, i cant allow people to just sit there and let someone hurt another whether i no them or not. the internet is a very powerful thing, and words are even worse. If students are at risk or being bullied in any way could go to the principals and tell them or show them whats happening, and if that doesnt help then they could go to the police especially if they are being threatened in any way shape or form. Kids cant just sit there and allow someone to continuously abuse them with words and actions, people may say that if you just go along with it or allow them to continue until the bully gets bored then they will leave you alone is a lie, when i was younger i did that and it continued on until i was in grade 9, i allowed it to go on for about 5 years without telling anyone. in my opinion the safest thing to do is stand up for yourself or others and let someone (an adult) know what is going on and what is being said and get them to help. The white hatters presentation was an amazing eye opener for many people, and i hope that people will think before they say or do, we are in a generation where many people have been committing suicide because of what people say to them or behind their backs, its not right for someone who is young, who has their whole life ahead of them, who has many things they have to explore, see, and learn be put through all of that and end their life before they can experience what life is really like. I hope kids these days learnt something from the white hatter because i no for sure that i had.

Lest We Forget.

November 11th isn't just a day we sit back and relax, its a day we pray, remember, and thank all the men who had fought for our country within the years. The 11th of November is a day we know as Remembrance day (or Poppy Day). It is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month."

Remembrance Day

Honoring our soldiers.
October 22, 2014 was a nightmare at Parliament Hill and nearby in OttawaCanada. Michael Zehaf-Bibeau fatally shot Corporal Nathan Cirillo, a Canadian soldier on ceremonial sentry duty at the Canadian National War Memorial. He then launched an attack in the nearby Centre Block parliament building, where members of the Parliament of Canada were attending caucusesAccording to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Zehaf-Bibeau's motives, as expressed in a video he had made, related "to Canada's foreign policy and in respect of his religious beliefs." Commissioner Bob Paulson had earlier said the "passport issue was central to what was driving” Zehaf-Bibeau. In his mother's opinion, the attack was the "last desperate act" of someone with a mental disorder who felt trapped.[11] Investigation into the attack is ongoing. Classified by the RCMP as a "terrorist attack", it was the most serious security breach at Parliament Hill since the 1966 parliament bombing. It took place two days after an attack on military personnel in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu,Quebec, which also killed a Canadian soldier. The two incidents, which attracted international attention, raised concerns about the effectiveness of police actions to prevent terrorist attacks and the security measures in-place at federal legistures.

Halloween

All Hallows Eve, also known to most of us as Halloween is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallow's Day. Halloween the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saintsmartyrs, and all the faithful departed believers.
The word Halloween or Hallowe'en dates to about 1745.Although the phrase "All Hallows'" is found in Old English, "All Hallows' Eve" is itself not seen until 1556.
Today's Halloween customs are thought to have been influenced by folk customs and beliefs from the Celtic-speaking countries, some of which have pagan roots, and others which may be rooted in Celtic ChristianityIn modern Ireland, Scotland, Mann and Wales, the festival included mumming and guising, the latter of which goes back at least as far as the 16th century. This involved people going house-to-house in costume or in disguise, usually reciting verses or songs in exchange for food. It may have come from the Christian custom of souling or it may have a Gaelic folk origin, with the costumes being a means of imitating, or disguising oneself from, the Aos Sí.

Today's Halloween customs are also thought to have been influenced by Christian dogma and practices derived from it. Halloween falls on the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows' Day also known as All Saints' or Hallowmas on 1 November and All Souls' Day on 2 November, thus giving the holiday on 31 October the full name of All Hallows' Eve.
Development of artifacts and symbols associated with Halloween formed over time. Jack-o'-lanterns are traditionally carried by guisers on All Hallows' Eve in order to frighten evil spirits. There is a popular Irish Christian folktale associated with the jack-o'-lantern, which in lore, is said to represent a "soul who has been denied entry into both heaven and hell"

The Golden Rule:"Golden Ratio". It affects the ratio (1:1.618) of a picture size, as well as the placement of the main subjects in the photo.

Vertical and Horizontal Lines : vertical lines are used as attention-getters, they can act as frames and dividers. Vertical lines trigger many emotions to the viewers eye. Horizontal lines are relaxing, and calming to the viewer.
